SustFest21 is a community umbrella festival organised by the charity Sustainable St Albans and St Albans Friends of the Earth group.

Each year a working group made up of volunteers from the two groups and other interested people get together to organise the festival. The working group encourage local groups, businesses and schools all to run events and activities, creating an exciting sustainability festival by the people and for the people of St Albans District.

The fifth award-winning Sustainability Festival took place in the district from 23rd May to 6th June 2021 across St Albans, Harpenden and the villages. (Sadly due to Covid-19 restrictions we decided to cancel the 2020 Festival).

We have to fund-raise from scratch each year, requesting grants, and seeking sponsorship from local groups.

Groups and businesses run all sorts of innovative and interesting activities during the festival.   All events must fit with the 10 themes of sustainability from the Bioregional rainbow list. For more information see our Sustainability page.
